Bellingen Canoe Adventures offers a unique and unforgettable experience exploring the rich ecosystems of wildlife, flora and aquatic culture.

Our Guides are experienced and safety is our priority. They have their Australian Canoeing Instructors awards and have been trained in First Aid, Swift Water Rescue. They have also trained with NPWS to give your students every opportunity to experience nature first hand on the water.

We are happy to work with you to individualize these activities to suit the needs of your students and the Teachers’ Programs.Please see below for some possible options:

Bellingen Canoe Adventures advise all students to bring a hat, sunscreen and bottled water. We also suggest swimmers with t-shirt covering and a towel.

ACTIVITIES
We have educational courses to suit your individual class programs, designed in conjunction with the requirements of the DSE Science & Technology, HSIE , Mathematics, Sport and PDHPE .

We offer
•           Design & Technology – Bamboo Raft Building (and races)
•           Science & Technology – Nature Hunt
•           Mathematics – Compass

We also offer fun activities to choose from (Sport and PDHPE)
•           Canoeing Races
•           Canoeing Slalom races

Both of these are based on strength, agility and use of paddles
•           Limbo Canoeing
•           Swimming

Included in all school based activities are the teaching of
•           Safety on the river – self rescue
•           Forward Paddling
•           Back Paddling
•           Directional Paddling
•           Emptying water out of the canoe
•           Streamline Paddling ie maximum gain for minimum effort
